20 Under 40: Dr. Erin Gray Wos

A Eugene native, Dr. Erin Gray Wos first fell in love with sport running for South Eugene High School, and then later competing collegiately before injuries prompted a pivot from distance running to race walking — an event in which she placed third at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials and competed at numerous World Championships for the United States. After undergoing open heart surgery at age 12, her experience as both an athlete and a patient drew Dr. Wos to sports and osteopathic medicine, ultimately bringing her back to the community that raised her. Today, she is founder of the recently opened WOS Performance Clinic, a direct specialty care clinic focused on regenerative sports medicine. She is also the medical director for TrackTown USA, and a team physician for USA Track & Field, caring for athletes and active people at every level of sport. Her practice reflects the way she believes medicine should be delivered: individualized, rooted in the body’s inherent ability to heal itself, and built to last.
